Dr Gavin Duffy from TU Dublin has been in touch about a course on developing spatial thinking for TY students.
The course was originally developed by Sheryl Sorby, Professor of Engineering Education at the University of Cincinnati, and was adapted for TY students in Ireland. The programme was piloted over the last two years and they are looking to possibly roll it out nationwide after Christmas, with IMTA support. Over the last two years, 65 teachers have been involved from about 30 different schools. They have done some research on the impact of the course on students and how teachers have experienced learning and delivering the course. The report that they attached for OIDE can be found here.
