Congratulations to the 3rd year students from Wesley College who have won this year’s Pi Quiz National Final with an impressive score of 24/24. Their flawless performance saw them take the crown in style, claiming a cash prize of €500, an individual trophy and a newly commissioned perpetual Pi Quiz trophy for their school.
The lads saw off great competition from Dundalk Grammar School (21/24) and Sutton Park School in 2nd and 3rd place with prizes of €300 and €200 respectively. There was a tiebreak for 3rd place after the two teams from Sutton Park tied with Bandon Grammar on 19 points. Sutton Park B engaged victorious based on the tiebreak and claimed 3rd place overall.
It was a great day which was enjoyed by all in the Midlands Park Hotel, Portlaoise. All students and teachers were treated to a lunch in the hotel following the quiz.
